Looking at symbols and patterns in poems. Looking at poems: is there an audience. In her poems there is not which shows that she is very alone. Just because she"s upset it doesn"t mean that she is torn apart over it. The sadness is just life and she wraps herself in it. She relies on her audience to know what she is talking about. Night and birds do not mean the same thing s in other poems and audiences need to know that. If you don"t know that, she wants you to be frustrated because you don"t know or understand. She self publishes because she needs to feed a lot of kids. What is a necessity to her is not the same as why wordsworth"s worried about women. She had a male education and not a woman"s accomplished education. Most women writers had liberal fathers with big libraries that they can access.
