The geography of our everyday lives is pivotal in influencing who we are and what we might become . Shelter: we have homes with proper heat, and lighting, others have limited or no shelter. Water: we take advantage of our fresh water, other places have unsafe water. Accessing goods: we have shopping malls, stores, etc, others have to use scrap yards, farm lands, etc. Transportation: we have cars, buses, trains, planes, etc, others rely on walking, biking, horses, etc. Human geographers conduct critical analyses of geographical processes. Critical : involving the objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to form a judgement . Analysis : detailed examination of the elements or structure of something, typically as a basis for discussion or interpretation. Phenomena that occur: in place (e. g. , gentrification, urban sprawl, economic development, across space/between places (e. g. , migration, commuting, trade)
