You need an experiment to be set up properly to infer causality. 6 give wrong answer over several trials (but not all trials) 75% of participants conformed to group at least once out of these cases. During 37% of these trials the wrong answer was given by the participant every time. A fake situation is set up where you are the teacher and teach a friendly person who mentions having a heart condition (the student ) is tested on memorizing word pairs. When they get the pair wrong, they get shocked and the voltage increases by 15 v increments for each incorrect word pair. 300 v - stopped making noise entirely (considered wrong answer ) The experiment conductor is in the room with you while you do this. The point is to test obedience to authority. The ethical issues associated with this experiment gave rise to formalized ethics in studies.
