Socialization tends to be unconscious (people often say they aren"t affect by the media, but they really are) Allows to communicate ideas, beliefs, politics etc. through culture. Helps to define and reinforce standards of behaviour, provides role models, and communicates expectations about all aspects of social life today. We must be taught basic foundation of life (walking, talking etc. ) through lifelong social experience people develop their human potential through previous generations and culture. Our capacity to communicate with one another is through language - this is a distinguishing characteristic of humans. Some tv provides models of pro-social behaviours, majority of content promotes competition and desire for wealth, positive and negative exists in mass media. Provides standards of behaviour, provides role models etc.
