Crossed plants that differed only in 1 trait (e. g. seed colour) cross yellow and green. Both parental traits reappeared in f2 3:1 ratio. F1 was all yellow indication yellow was dominant over green dominant relationship. 2 alleles per gene (aa/aa/aa) gets one from maternal and one from paternal. Units of inheritance = genes (alternative forms of these genes = alleles)
