1st- copernicus proposes the heliocentric model to replace the geocentric model, In the geocentric model, they believed everything circled around the earth in a circular formation whereas the heliocentric model, everything circled around the sun in an oval formation. 2nd- galileo and kepler discover direct evidence for the heliocentric theory, 1609 . Kepler discovered the planets do not move in perfect circles but follow elliptical orbits. And the planets speed up/slow down as they orbit the sun. 3rd- a new physics is developed nature is not purposive, the same physics applies up there and down here galileo, kepler, descartes, and culminating with isaac. Issac newton develops the new physics called universal gravitation : describe descartes" main epistemological project in the meditations, including the role played in it by the method of doubt. In everyday life we often question the truth of some our beliefs, and so we then try to make sure they are true.
