The public sphere has human reason at the centre. Takes place in the mirror of the disembedded self, economy and poplular soverinty. Political organization at ay point in time that people create for themselves. Political structures, institutions, practices together these are the elements that make the state. Authority is given so it can be lost if you don"t prove youself. Authonomy and subjectivity is what the state should reflect soveringty is the most important element. 3rd important: territoriality we define our limits nationalism . 4th important: government within this we talk about constitutions, taxation and monopoly. The idea of the state is not new. The treaty of westphalia was the birth of the modern nation state (1648)
