Many different areas of psychology are studied (ex: positive, environmental, etc) cognitive psychology is studying different aspects of psychology. (cid:862)hot cognition(cid:863): cognition and emotion link: cultural relation, mental illness. Cognition is concerned with unification: relation of everything, to understand the cognitive process. Methodology and theme is based upon, (cid:862)the brain is a computer(cid:863: to look and compare the brain similar to the workings and connections of a computer. Not the study of learning, but choose to study these areas within the link of cognition. Find the link and relationship between cognition and memory. Akin to neuroscience: like how neural related to all things cognitive, cognition is related across the board as well. Information processing approach: ex: computer; how you go from neurons to cognition, (cid:862)(cid:271)rai(cid:374)(cid:863) is a (cid:272)o(cid:373)puter; ho(cid:449) it is orga(cid:374)ized a(cid:374)d ho(cid:449) it pro(cid:272)esses information. Emotions and cognition are not separate; thoughts, vision, emotions are all information processing. How is it not? (ie: it is like a computer)
