Communities: populations of various species (same time and place) Landscapes/seascapes: spatial integrations of communities in a large area. A strategy for the integrated management of land, water, and living resources that promotes conservation and sustainable use in an equitable way. Important principles: gives ecological interpretations of many components of ecosystems and interactions in a holistic manner, doesn"t view ecosystem as a random grouping, conforms them as intrinsically connected and interdependent. A condition that is determined to be characteristic of its natural region and likely to persist, including abiotic components, rates of change and supporting processes .
