Ota decides to go against the path that his mother and deceased father wanted for him by abandoning the law and taking classes in the arts. Spots a girl crying on the side of the street and tries to comfort her. Ends up starting a relationship with this dancing girl who is poor and lacks an education so he attempts to help her by giving her money and thus saving her from prostitution. He ends up losing the funding for his studies so he moves in with the dancing girl and takes up a job writing articles to pay for his education.
