o Core text: example Macbeth novel
o Satellite resources: witchcraft in Scotland, conventions of the stage (anything with
Shakespeare)

o Think purposely about curricular planning

o It is vital that students are able to look at a piece of writing in multiple points of
view especially in the higher levels

o (1) Contrasts and contradictions
▪ Placing two things side by side
▪ Any time there is a contradiction you want to step back to validate what is
right and wrong
▪ Contradictions can tell you about unreliable characters
