Hepatic artery brings fresh blood from the heart. Branches of the hepatic artery, portal vein and bile duct all drain into the central vein. Bile ducts carry secretions to the major bile system. They are small capillary like structures that are surrounded by hepatocytes and covered in epithelial layer that is 1 cell thick. They are more permeable than the capillary bc of the space fenestrations - between the endothelial cells (no tight jxn) Very close contact with the blood allowing for free flow between the sinusoid and hepatocyte.
