In regards to desires vs reason, there is a question that arises. Philosophers have varying ideas of what constitutes their relationship. Aristotle and hume are two philosophers in particular which have certain standpoints regarding this topic in which i will discuss further. According to aristotle, he believes that there is such thing as having your desires and emotions under the control of, or in line with reason. According to his theory those who are virtuous are those whose behaviors and emotions are most in accordance with reason. And he believes there are three parts of the soul which reason"s relationships. The first part of the soul are things that activities which are entirely performed by reason. An example of this would be math or philosophy. Those activities are independent of feelings or desires. On the other end of the spectrum there are the activities that are impervious to reason such as digestion, muscle reflex etc.
