Factor that effects the treatment group traffic. Internal validity is generally high because it is a natural experiment. (as if randomization) Use that random effect to see if it effects the results. Need to thing here about issues that could have affected the turnout to be low in those consolidated districts. History: something uncontrolled happens between the treatment and the measurement of the dependent variable. Maturation: the subjects are changing over time. Changes between the treatment and measuring the dv. Testing: the experiment itself might change behaviour. People did not know they were observed time. Demand characteristics: subjects try to learn or guess what the experiment is about. To what extent does you experiment apply to the rest of the world.
