Emphasis: inequality within nations (domestic distribution of income) Relative deprivation: distribution of income ( how do certain groups rank vis-a-vis others?) A per-capita increase in the goods and services produced by a nation. Assumption: increase in goods and services bene ts human-kind overall. (2) the urban population will increase vis a vis the rural population. Increase as people move to more complex jobs away from farms. Less of emphasis on daily needs (survival basics), but now as you get rising middle-class there is a consumption toward durable consumer gods and perhaps luxury goods as families do not only have to spend on necessities.
