Philosophical treatments of consciousness have primarily concerned two issues the mind-body problem concerns the relation between mental events and physical events i the brain. Idealism everything is ideas; no physical things in the world and only mental events. Algorithmic level corresponds to the functional description of the organism in terms of relations among its internal states, its input information and its output behavior. Problem of other minds concerns how people come to believe that other people are also conscious. Because an individual only has direct access to only their conscious mind and not those of others, therefore, it is hard to say whether another person is conscious since a person only has their own perceived experiences. Phenomenological criteria first-person knowledge: an individual having knowledge about something based on their personal experience: more subjective information than objective.
