Today at work i encountered a situation where i was working on a 2005 bmw 330xi, and one of the wheels would not come off. This was most likely from being tighten too hard in the past. The wheel lock was so tight that i ended up wearing down the nut to the point that the lock itself was free spinning. This was a problem because without a wheel lock that would fit i could not remove the wheel nut, thus the wheel. My first reaction was concern, this was because in the past when working on a 2004. This resulted in having to use a torch and chisel to remove the wheel lock, in turn the wheel was damaged due to the excessive heat given off by the torch. I knew that if it took the same process to remove the bmw rim it would be very expensive to either replace or repair said rim.
