Agriculture revolution: was rapid and widespread and occurred independently in different parts of the world around the same time. Weed: plant with no use to humanity, use has not been discovered, plant benefit from human impact or disturbance and reduces crop yields. Cultivated plants: does not mean domesticated could have been cultivated before. Domestication = mutualism: population diverges genetically form original gene pool and develops symbiotic relationship with animal feeding upon it. Humans have altered plant: dormancy, dispersal and defenses. Wheat was limited to small areas, human intervention allowed expansion. Agriculture societies increased prevalence of disease and more pre-dental disease and gradual reduction in dentitions, smaller teeth and strength. Provides reliability and predictable amounts of food and allows population densities to rise and people in many people can live in same area year around. 10,000 years ago societies were connected by trade networks.
