How did the work come to be created: did artist create work simply because he wanted to, or did someone ask artist to create it, chapel was commissioned by enrico. Scrovegni: patron who hired giotto and is a christian, also called arena chapel, cause it was built on site of ancient roman arena, chapel was saved by people for posterity. Is it still in that location: giotto designed the paintings for interior of chapel, remained in situ, meaning in the original location, presentation allows viewers to read the narrative, which is the story told in the individual scenes.
