This lab is a macroscopic investigation of the mean number of chloroplast organelles in. Sphagnum sp. and mnium hornum, two species of common moss in canada. For this investigation, the number of chloroplasts were counted for 15 unique cells within each respective moss sample. The data is recorded below and biological scale diagrams were drawn. In order to statistically compare the average number of chloroplast in each moss sample, a t-test was performed. The t-test yielded results indicating a significant difference between the means of the number of chloroplasts within both moss species.
