Uniformatarianism: the idea that present is the key to the past! Alfred wegner: proposed the idea of continental drift theory that at one point all land masses were connected in a thing called pangea. Evidence of continental drift: fossils, climate, plants and rocks all offer eve dance that parts of earth were once touching. Paleomagnetic evidence: is the study of the record of the earth"s magnetic eld in rocks, sediment, or archeological materials. Certain rocks lock in geomagnetic information that gives us information in present today about history. It led the revival of the continental drift theory. magnetic poles have ipped causing the rocks to move. Sea oor spreading: during ww2 they put sonar on the boats.
