Department  of  Kinesiology   McMaster  University   4J03  Midterm  Review   Exam  will  have  approximately  80  marks  (85  Max.)   Part  1  –  40-­‐45  M  (or  so)  of  memorization   • Charts....Origins/Insertions/Actions/Nerve  Supply/Proximal  and  Distal  attachments  of   Ligaments/Movements  to  Stress  Ligaments     • Other  info  from  the  courseware...   o Describe  the  Interosseous  Membrane  of  the  Lower  Leg   o What  are  the  borders  and  contents  of  the  Popliteal  Fossa   o What  are  the  contents  of  the  Greater  Sciatic  Foramen   Part  2  –  30-­‐35  M  (or  so)  of  application/discussion.    Here  are  some  samples:   • Please  describe  what  happens  to  the  talus  during  PF  and  DF.    What  is  the  anatomical  reason  that   the  Talocrural  joint  has  more  PF  than  DF?    If  your  partner  does  not  have  full  ROM  of  PF,  what   type  of  “glide”  would  you  want  to  perform   to  help  increase  their  ROM?   • How  does  Glute  Max  help  to  protect  the  knee  from  both  Varus  and  Valgus  stresses?   • Compare  and  contrast  th e  medial  and  lateral  menisci  with  movements.   • And,  of  course,  the  pelvis  question(s)  discussed  in  lecture  today.   Part  3  –  9  Marks  “A  Tour  Through  the  Lower  Extremity”   • A  special  kind  of  Fill -­‐in-­‐the-­‐blanks  question  that  involves  the  continuity  of  the  lower  extremity.       • You  will  start  at  one  area  of  the  body  and  move  (pretty  much  continuously)  through  different   spots  of  the  lower  extremity  as  if  you  w ere  palpating  from  one  structure  to  the  next.   • When  you  first  read  this  question,  DON’T  PANIC!    There  will  be  a  couple  of  blanks  that  are  easier
