Limits & tendencies of law: most of the laws that are relevant to labour are extreme old. Even if it had been changed, is still rest upon old law and old legal changes. This is not law that is passed my legislation. The constitution is the highest level of law (it tells you what you can and cannot do). These practices are imported whole into canada (british common law) Many law makers needed a place to get their laws from, so instead of making the laws as a whole. The laws and legal traditions have been imported from britain. They were very cautious, they didn"t want to interfere in the market at all. These seemed like basic issues: with this being the case, there were many legal disputes. To settle these kinds of disputes was dome though common law. This often offers a lot of presedicence and concepts that workers try to draw on in disputes: statutes can override common-law.
