The topic of our presentation is renal failure, a medical condition in which the kidneys fail to filter waste products from the blood, with a primary focus on alport syndrome. The progressive development of glomerulonephritis is known as alport syndrome and is associated with the loss of a collagen promoter in the glomerular basement membrane (gbm) (lebleu et al. , 2009). Moreover, the researchers in our primary paper monitored the effects of genetic mutations in 3, 4, or 5 (iv) collagen chains, which lead to renal disease in patients with alport syndrome (lebleu et al. , 2009). The researchers in the primary article conducted an experiment on col4a3 knockout mice and inserted them with bone marrow transplantation and bone marrow derived cell infusions. The data from this experiment suggested that the bone marrow cells in the col4a3 mice resulted in the improvement of the renal disease effects.
