How to do things with words (assignment 1) We spend a lot of time interacting with people face o face and electronically. How people react to what you have to say. How they offer information to you look at body language, intensions. This is a linguistic activity that involves both erbal and non-verbal communication: non-verbal communication: how friendly they are, but overly friendly can be a deterrent. People working on a commission base are overly friendly. How they present themselves, attitude, smile, attire, professionalism: verbal communication: More interaction with the system than a human being eg. online shopping. Invent the product you are shopping for or shop for something you know is unavailable at that store. Look for something you cannot buy but don"t go to commission salespeople. Body language (face, arms, posure: open vs closed) What does the person do to make you feel comfortable, welcome, want to buy things etc.
