Document Summary

Power of sound: how much energy transfer is happening over time. Intensity of sound: energy transfer over an area. A measure of the strength, volume or size of a physical quantity. Maximum variation of a variable from its mean value. How much pressure, density and particle motion change. Depends on the variable, or quantity being measured. Its hard to measure in a medium because the changes of rarefaction and compression are small. Before making sound, the transducer uses crystals that can convert electricity into a mechanical wave like sound. This current is what we measure to show us amplitude. We ca(cid:374) see that whe(cid:374) the li(cid:374)es are close together, it"s a (cid:373)a(cid:454), a(cid:374)d whe(cid:374) there further apart is a minimum. We use electricity to stimulate crystals, allowing us to convert that electrical energy into mechanical energy like sound. Therefore, sound amplitude is measured in volts. We just need the electrical current of the echoes and the simulation.
