Most provinces have a provincial body which do not regulate the profession, just provide support. Need a b. a. or graduate diploma (masters) in music therapy. Education and training of a music therapist is multidisciplinary. Encompasses subjects such as physiology, anatomy, biology, psychology, anthropology. Cbmt examination (certified board of music therapists) Continuing education- mta must maintain their credential through camt continuing education process (5 year cycle). Uses musical flexibility, creatively and in an aesthetically satisfying manner. Crpo regulates its members and only members of the crpo can use the title along with the professional designation, registered psychotherapist.
