Three related themes: privatization of justice system. Privatization of justice system can target certain classes and race. Some elements of the criminal justice is privatized: unintended consequences of law and order policy choices. The longer a person is incarcerated can make them worse than before; they do not come out a better person: targeting of specific communities. People under 30 are more likely to be charged with possession of marijuana compared to people over 30. People under 18 are more likely being charged with public drinking compared to people over 18. People under 30 are more likely to be charged with j-walking compared to those over 30. Privilege certain communities by not enforcing the criminal law as strict compared to others.
