Global politics mid term review: international relations focused on relations between nations and states, relations between people and non governmental organizations and multi national corporations. Things that we can observe, experience and the data we attain from observing the world. Explanations for why things are the way they are, concepts, terms metaphors. State is the form of human community, an organization that manages to convince everyone that their decisions are final when it comes to violence, somebody has central authority. Basis of common language, territory, economic life and common culture (stalin) Full control, emphasizes on people having connections, an idea of home land and common culture. We have a world of nation states as this has been imposed by europeans and passed down. The state should belong to a nation, nation should align with a stable set of borders. Self vs others (stresses elements like common language, race etc)
