Began in the late 1940s and surfaced in the 1960s. Are an idiographic way of looking at each individual human being. Focus on the meaning of life and dignity for the individual: this meaning is what guides us. Like taking apart a birthday cake to analyze its quality. Humanistic principles: the primary study of psychology should be the experiencing person. All people are individuals: choice, creativity and self-realization are concerns of the humanistic psychologist. Self-realization is the highest achievement for humanists as well: only personally and socially significant problems should be studied. No point in studying unimportant phenomena because the object is improving lives and making people happy: the major concern of psychology should be the dignity and enhancement of people. Humanist theories are very positively oriented in comparison to other personality theories. Was not only a very influential psychologist but also has had large impacts on business and commerce.
