This caused a lot of problems for people because of the guilt they felt for having sex or masturbating and etc. Freud proposed women (who couldn"t feel nerves in arms) is so upset about masturbation and so she created a psychosomatic problem so that she will not masturbate. Wrote books- catalogue of interviews with women and men about sex. Obsession grows with sexual repression in society. Sex only recently viewed as a valued field of study.
