Socioeconomic status predicts women"s, but not men"s willingness to engage in various degrees of intimacy with a target. Not willing to have sex or a relationship but more likely if of high or medium ses. Will have coffee or a date with high or medium ses, not low ses. Ses show off effect only happens in the presence of opposite-sex observers, so this is specific to mate attainment. Not preference for altruism, or both genders would want that. Women judge short men to be undesirable for short and long term mating. Health is an indispensible quality for both men and women in a lt mate, slightly more important to women. Johnston"s meta-analysis showed a very small but significant preference for masculine men why is this so small when masculine men are actually healthier this is because of women"s equal preference for feminine men when in luteal phase.
