Week 2: evolution of fatherhood & motherhood (10 q) Definition of family : traditional coming together of a man and women, usually but not always married. If the relationship lasts, children are often produced. Family is mother, father and children living together under one roof developing a long-term financial, psychological and social unit. Inclusive family is a relationship of some permanence between amongst persons, with or without children (simplistic: amongst persons eg. extended family, older siblings, gay partners, open to family form, duration, and interpretation of cultural responsibilities. Egalitarian family form: the father and the mother are on equal footing at the head of the family, democratic situation parents have equal responsibility. Week 3: evolution of childhood (1) (10 q) Christianity: only women researchers speak to this period further defined male and female relationships. These women were seen as intelligent, productive, and worthy. Week 3: evolution of childhood (2) (10 q) 1968 women saw significant changes in the divorce laws.
