Soc sci 3qo3 - lecture 1: course introduction. Gendered understanding on how to have children: rich families and daycares. Most people who don"t like idea of family have either been abused or neglected by their families. Despite the rise of feminism, women are generally dissatisfied with the role thrown at them in society. To a degree all daughters have different relationship than sons. Less likely to give in to their innate desires. Because of this, they must take care of children and must be constant support. If they don"t do this, the society will fall to pieces of live for husbands. A woman is supposed to be everything and be taking care of children - "maternal, affectionate, sexy" One role has not replaced the other -- it"s just been added to. Having a family powerfully changes the role of a woman. Ss 3q03 the history of family and marriage.
