Marx switched from law to philosophy(did not pleased his father) He completed his undergrad degree on philosophy and completed a phd in philosophy in 1841. He got blacklisted by the ministry of education in berlin. His statement does not match the conservative prussian government. Marx married with jenny (1843); engaged for 8 years. He thinks the more liberal political climate in france would allow him to express his ideas more freely.
