Canada is known in the world stage for its unique health care system due in particular to its organization and how it is funded. As such, it tends to be studied in contrast to other systems of care, such as the american model and the european model. However, little attention is placed on understanding how the canadian mental health care system is executed, and even less attention is placed on comparing this system to others in the world. It is for this reason that i sought to understand how the canadian mental health care system is organized in comparison to the european model. I argue that the current state of the mental health systems in canada and. I conclude with a discussion of the limitations of, and the current shortcomings of the chosen theoretical framework. This paper will approach the comparison of the canadian and european mental health care systems through the lens of conflict theory.
