Final exam short answer: describe and explain the following: First sex refers to young heterosexual males and females and their differernces in experiencing intercourse for the first time. Some arguments around this emphasize this experience as a critically gendered moment in the development of heterosexuality. It is one way institiutionalized sex can be made visible, and is also one of many constitiutive moments of heterosexuality. The first expericne of hetero sex for boys, plays as an intro to masculnity, however, is an ambiguous role for women. This is problematic because the first sex experience is his moment and his rite of passage into adulthood. In this, female sexuality is constructed within heterosex on masculine territory, but can only exist with female consent and collusion. They bragged in losing their viginity as seen in popular movies like superbad. This is different for girls because they are losing a body part where his achievement of manhood is her loss of autonomy.
