Social psychology : seeks to understand how people think about, feel about, relate to, and influence one another through interaction and intersubjectivity; can be considered both a science and a social science. As a science has five core values [accuracy, objectivity, skepticism, open-mindedness, & ethics] and four goals: [description, prediction, determining causality, & explanation] Applied social psychology : drawing on social psychological theories to contribute to the understanding of social and practical problems, and the development of intervention strategies for improving the functioning of individuals, organizations, communities and societies. Operational definition : the way a variable is being measured (x. likert scale above 5) The power of the situation : behaviour is strongly influenced by social context. Fundamental attribution error : overestimating internal attributions for others/ external for ourselves. The scientific process : observation theory development construct hypothesis hypothesis testing. Theory : a set of interrelated hypotheses or propositions concerning a phenomena/set of phenomenon.
