Problem is that there is a disconnect between what we say and what we do in society. Women have continued to be somewhat subservient but at the same time making these progressive step to have their voice and have things changed in canadian society. Fight for the modest real gains through a sort of trench warfare. Almost on a case by case basis fighting to gain ground inch by reluctant inch. When a woman has a child, they put less time and energy into education, career training and advancement. Scale down career aspirations; public sector achievement suffers because you don"t have as much time as you thought. New feminism can never fully achieve equality for women as long as women continue to be primarily responsible for child care. Fighting for equality more so in the public sector than in the private sector but we have failed to make great changes in the private sector.
