Domestic violence is also called intimate partner violence (ipv), is defined as a pattern of coercive behaviors and methods used to gain and maintain power and control by one individual over another in an adult relationship. Psychological abuse includes a range of behaviors such as: Emotional abuse:putting her down, making her feel bad about herself, calling her names, negatively comparing her to other women, making unreasonable demands, using things that matter to her against her. Isolation:controlling who she sees and where she goes, using jealousy to justify restricting her actions, interfering with her job, forbidding her to see family and friends, limiting her outside involvement. Obfuscation:denying responsibility for his actions, blaming her, minimizing her concerns, distorting the truth, lying to her. Using others:using the children against her, using visitation to harass her, threatening to take the children away from her,using religion to control her.
