Cover 75% of earth but make up 5% of its mass. Clasic: inorganic rock and mineral fragments (as sediments squeeze together) (shale) Chemically precipitated: formed from compounds precipitated from a soluion (limestone) Organic sediment: plant and animal issues (bog, peat, moss)
