Absolute space: mathematical understanding of space (distance, area, etc) Relational space: space produced and given meaning by people and the relationship between places. Place- refers to the meanings that people give locations. Scale- refers to the levels of analysis from the local to the global. Spatial justice- refers to the fairness of the distribution of society"s burdens and benefits. Urban geography- explains the distribution of towns and cities, and the similarities and differences between them and within them. Includes studying processes that go beyond the boundaries of an individual city, but which effect urban life. Definition of the city- a city can be defined as a space that has a large population within a compact space, leading to high-density rates.
