Cerebral cortex: is the outer layer of the cerebellum and composed of unlamented set of nerves makes it look grey because it has no myelin. It plays a key role in memory, attention, perception, cognition, awareness, thought, language, and consciousness and is broken up into two hemispheres: left which is dominated in most people making us right handed and the right hemispheres. Frontal lobe: help define personality, behaviour, emotions, intellectual function voluntary movements. Parietal lobe: help us with our sensations. Occipital lobe: is a vision receptor helps with our vision. Associated with movements of the body responsible primarily for motor control, as well as other roles such as motor learning, executive functions and behaviors, and emotions. Thalamus: is our relaying system of sensory signals between the spinal cord and the brain (back and forth), including motor signals, to the cerebral cortex, and the regulation of consciousness, sleep, and alertness.
