Sir francis galton believed that intelligence was hereditary: believed that intelligence is based on biology, therefore should relate to other biologically based phenomena. A correlation technique that is used after galton tried to show that intelligence was a biological phenomenon. Statistical analysis that examines all of the correlations between all items in the test and determines if any of them are highly correlated with each other. Looks for underlying structures or dimensions that is shared between two items on a list. Genetic differences affect 50% of the differences in iq and educational achievement. As we age, genotype better predicts our phenotype. Shared environments contribute very little to phenotypical variance in intelligence.
