It revived interest in ancient greek and roman authors, overall greater knowledge of greek including tranisitons of greek classics into latin, greater diversity of texts, and increased freedom from the church. There was a great movement surrounding culture and the arts. This specifically came from new works of book, and paintings. Since at this point there was a great connection to the past world, people wanted to take a hold of that and make it new. This could be seen through the teachings in universities which focused heavily on humanism.
