A study is undertaken investigating whether there is a link between smoking and the occurrence of lung cancer. Data are obtained from hospitalized patients in one major metropolitan city over a period of five years. Cases are patients that are admitted with a new diagnosis of lung cancer. Controls are selected from patients in the same hospitals at the same time: based upon the above scenario, suggest a hypothesis or research question for the study. The cases were selected based on their health outcome of already being diagnosed with lung cancer. Same geographical status (ie. taken from a similar population so its comparative). Ease of access to patient records (ie. same hospitals): provide two questions for the questionnaire that you would present to the study participants. Part II 1.The California Occupational Mortality study data set was employed to assess mortality data for the years 1979-1981. A 2% sample of employed persons from the 1980 census of California was used. It contains the occupation of each person who had died.
