For the purpose of this course, image capture refers to the digitizing of images for use in the graphic communications industry. There are two common ways we can digitize images for graphic communications: digital cameras. Almost all photography for graphic communications is now shot on digital cameras. Digital cameras can be categorized as: consumer. There are two main types of camera technology used for prosumer and up: mirrorless. Sony 58: digital single lens reflex (dslr) Nikon d90: dslr is still the most popular but mirrorless is gaining ground, scanners. Scanners are used for digitizing hard copy images into digital form. Used to be the only way to digitize images.
