It is roughly considered to be equivalent to the internet (the network of interconnected computers). It is also considered a medium that many to many relationships between users. One connection to another (telephone): the telephone does not care what the two individuals are talking about, the company is only interested in the medium which is to make sure that the network is working properly. One to many (tv): the broadcaster is only concerned about the distribution. Many to many (internet): many people are using different sources to communicate with many people. When treating cyberspace as a public space, there are good legal and moral reasons that we must follow to ensure that everyone has access to it since it is a public property/space.
