It has been constructed to seem normal in all states, is seen through the ways laws and public policies that only change to bring equality to women incrementally over time. Patriarchy got transferred from nation to nation through the public sphere, and also passed on through colonialism. Men were always seen as the breadwinners and had all financial and legal responsibilities in the household. Male privilege and gender social constructions have caused enduring legacies for women"s quality of life and opportunity. For example: demographic data for asia in 1990, regions with very strong patriarchal traditions were found to have 100 million women missing" in existing demographic ratios.
