Rape culture: a culture in which dominant ideas, social practices, media images, and societal institutions implicitly or explicitly condone sexual assault by normalizing or trivializing sexual violence and by blaming survivors for their own abuse. Assaults by members of campus sport teams e. g. montreal and ottawa. Sexual assault: any kind of sexual contact without mutual consent. It can include unwanted kissing, fondling, oral or anal sex, intercourse, or other forms of penetration, or any other unwanted act of a sexual nature. University of ottawa: 44 % of female students experienced some form of sexual violence or unwanted sexual touching while attending the university. Consent: an active, direct, voluntary, unimpaired and conscious choice and agreement between adults to engage in physical contact or sexual activity. =66 % over sexual assaults reported in 2009. Ontario (jan 2017) and british columbia (may 2017): mandatory sexual assault policies for all universities. Examines the social context of human behaviour cross-culturally and historically.
